Why Romeo and Juliet ?
William Shakespeare is certainly the most famous author in the world and Romeo and Juliet is a work that has been translated in every language.
Using the play we have built a project about theatre in Europe, a project whose language of communication is English, hence the title juliet@romeo. This wording, which is similar to an e-mail address, highlights the numerous exchanges which will take place around this project and implies modernity : doesn’t Shakespeare’s play echo the issues at stake in our modern societies?
